My Granny

Today, 4 years ago, my Granny went home to Heaven. There are days that I miss her so very much that I just want to cry. I practically lived with her from the time I was in 4th grade until 12th grade. I loved my weekends with her. No matter what happened she was always on my side. Every weekend she would make sure that she had a pizza for us to share on Friday nights while we watched tv. I remember watching Golden Girls with her and laughing more at her than the actual show. She was my best friend and I was hers. The memories that we shared will forever be in my heart. She had so much loss in her time here on earth but it never made her a bitter person. She became a widow at a very young age. She dealt with the loss of all of her siblings, three children, a grandchild, and two great grandchildren with a grace and composure that I can't describe. When we suffered the loss of our only daughter, she knew just what to say to help me get through it. So, this is for my Granny who is now out of pain and finally reunited with her husband, children, grandchild, great grandchildren and all who went before her. I love you and miss you.

Here we are in front of her prized petunias. This was right before my high school graduation.

This was right after my graduation from Troy State.

Wouldn't you know it!!!

I was all geared up this morning to post a blast from the past section and my wonderful husband cleaned off the pictures pre-2009 and now I have to wait until he wakes up enough to find exactly where he put them! I love him but I really wish he wouldn't mess with my pictures lol!!

Wow! What a beautiful day!!

It isn't every January day that we are blessed with a sunny, low 70's day! I guess God decided to bless us with a great day so that we all didn't go stir crazy! lol Steven decided that today would be a great day to clean the boat. Orion, of course, was on board and ready to help along with his trusty side kick James. Ian, not so much. He would far rather sneak away into his Dad's workshop and build one of his many creations.

Two of my favorite things!

Yes, I realize how wrong it is that one of my favorite things is this very bright red coffee pot but there is something to be said for brewing a cup of coffee and the coffee pot not leaking all over the counter. The second favorite "thing" is my sweet Ian with his glasses. I very rarely take pictures of Ian with his glasses because he just looks way too old. I am having a very hard time wrapping my mind around the fact the Ian is 10 and is almost as tall as I am.....where did the time go??? I mean, I can still remember being on my hands and knees chasing him around the house when he first learned to crawl and running behind him when he first learned to walk/run just in case he fell. Geez! That is almost too much to think about. Before I know he will be going on his first date and then devising a plan to con us into buying him his first car...where did the last 10 years go???

Slowly but Surely

My Granny use to always tell me "slowly but surely things will get back to normal". I always trusted that when I was younger but man alive it isn't easy when everyone is sick! Ian and James are back to "normal" and Orion is running low grade fevers now as opposed to having fever spikes. So, as Granny would say slowly but surely we are all getting well. The pictures are of Orion drawing a picture at my desk and Ian and James outside in the fog. I have yet to figure out what fascinates them about fog! lol

It's that time again--haircut time!

Our boys have hair like their father's---thick and rapidly growing. I kid you not. I can be in the middle of cutting Ian's hair and it seems as if it is growing right before my very eyes! I could only get pictures of James for this posting as Ian and Orion are absorbed in some show on Nick! These of James made me laugh though! I cut two full inches off of his hair and he still had some left. I washed his hair after wards and it was sticking up everywhere. Naturally, I got the bright idea of putting mousse in it and spiking it up! lol Of course in all of his giggling and bouncing around some of the "spikes" fell a bit.

Here we go again!

Just when I thought we were all on the road to wellness Orion starts running a fever. I am hoping and praying that after he gets well that we can all STAY well for quite a while. I am hoping to have new pictures of the boys posted sometime today!

Isn't This The Way It Always Works......

One gets sick and is on the road to recovery and another gets the flu...James has been a good sport about being sick but he has had a bad day today...fever spikes, coughing, and just feeling yucky :-( Even when James is smiling you can see how weak his little eyes are. I pray that they get well soon!

It's That Time of the Year Again--Flu Season :(

Ian is the first "victim" of flu season in our house. Poor little guy is so very exhausted and feels so bad. On the other hand he has his youngest brother at home with him to keep him entertained! James will play a game on the Nintendo DS and give Ian a play by play of what he is doing.

Up Close and Personal :-)

My boys are so creative and love for me to take strange pictures of them. They get bored if I am posing them for pictures but if they feel that they are calling the shots that can't get enough! These are a few that I took yesterday!

Construction Zone

My boys LOVE to go to their playroom and build settings to play with their toys! They were sweet enough to allow me to intrude long enough to take some pictures. Some are blurry due to their constant movement...I wanted badly to ask them to be still but I didn't want to "bother" them lol

Downtime After the Holidays

We have finally taken time to relax after the holidays. We have one more Christmas celebration this coming up weekend and then I think we are through. I took these pictures while the boys were chillin' out tonight. I hate that the one of Orion is so blurry---its such a cute picture of him laughing!
